Medha understands that every employee goes through a learning curve at a new job and that there is a gap between knowledge gained through college education and industry experience. While most companies offer some sort of induction program to new employees, Medha's employees go through a rigorous training program at Medha Training Centre (MTC).
Once new graduates are employed as Engineer (R&D)-Trainee, they go through an extensive training program for six months, which includes a hands-on project for 13 weeks. The goal of the training program is to instil knowledge about Medha's products, product development cycle, quality consciousness, industry trends and latest technologies. During the training program, each Trainee works on a project, which helps them bridge the gap between their college learning and its application at Medha.
While experienced employees go through an induction program on Medha's product offerings, domain knowledge and industry trends, all new college hires go through the standard training sessions along with some customised sessions depending on the R&D department they will join and their future role at Medha. Special emphasis is placed on domain knowledge, since designing products for railway environment needs special skills and knowledge, not easily gained through college education or even with work experience outside of this industry.
MTC offers a wide variety of training methodologies including workshops, seminars, demonstrations and outdoor activities. To aid employees in their learning, MTC offers e-Learning facilities through intranet. Employees can use this facility at their convenience and study a wide variety of topics.
The goal of each member of MTC is to cater to employee's needs and be a catalyst in the career growth of employees. Hence, in addition to standard training courses offered at MTC, various customised courses are offered upon employees requests to improve any specific skill set to help them meet their present and future requirements.
