Over the past 40 years, we have expanded our foundational expertise in rolling stock propulsion and control systems to include in-house bogie manufacturing, engineering of trainsets and locomotives and their collaborative assembly with railcoach factories, as well as diversified into commercial road, mining, specialized ground vehicles, and marine applications.

Rail.
A highly trusted and reputed partner for innovative, robust, energy-efficient, and low-maintenance rolling stock solutions.
Medha engineers trainsets and locomotives and builds them in collaboration with rail coach factories as well as builds new rollingstock in our rail factory. Additionally, Medha undertakes the redesign and life extension of all types of rolling stock, as well as zero-emission conversions.
Our expertise spans High-Speed Trains, Semi High-Speed Trains, Metro Trains, Monorails, Light Rail, Diesel Electric Multiple Units (DEMU), Electric Multiple Units (EMU), Special Rail Vehicles, and all types of locomotives including Battery Electric and Hydrogen.
Medha’s locomotive solutions range from bespoke light locomotives for industrial, and mining use to shunters to heavy haul locomotives, with power outputs from 400 hp to 9000 hp.

Semi-Highspeed Train
Medha's latest collaborative semi high-speed train build offers advanced passenger ride comfort and has a power rating of 11.5 MW, 16 coaches each with 50% motorized and operates at a maximum speed of 180 km/h. Semi-highspeed trains are Electric Multiple Unit's (EMU) that reach a speed of up to 200 km/h, and predominantly used for longer distance intercity travel, and aimed at passenger comfort.
Metro Train
Medha has collaborated in over 240 new Metro train builds. Metro's are Electrical Multiple Unit's (EMU) designed for shorter distance urban transit and for frequent stops and high capacity passenger movement. Medha EMU's operates at a maximum speed of 100 km/h. The EMU's design, control and propulsion technology are state of the art with energy saving and safety features.
Monorail
Medha designs and builds Monorail trains in our rail factory. Monorail is a type of railway system in which the track consists of a single rail, typically elevated and supported by a series of columns. Monorails are designed for urban transportation. Medha monorail trains are known for their sleek, modern appearance, efficient use of space, CBTC and safety features.
Locomotives
Medha specializes in all types of locomotives and its propulsion suite for different power sources and different applications such as Diesel, Electric, Bi-Mode (Diesel + overhead electric), Hybrid (Diesel + Battery), Zero emission Battery Electric, and Hydrogen. Medha has collaborated in over 2800 new locomotive builds and 3000 modernisations.
Diesel Electric Multiple Unit
Medha has been involved in more than 150 new DEMU builds in multiple countries and with power ratings over 1600 hp. Diesel Electric Multiple Unit's (DEMU) are self-propelled train sets that use diesel engines to generate electricity, which then powers electric traction motors to move the train. DEMU's are versatile and can operate in non electrified routes.
Light rail
Medha with our group company Enika is the undisputed leader in tram modernization. We have modernised over 230 trams and involved in 170 new tram builds. Our latest tram project is the modernization of 14 Siemens Combino trams in Poznan, Poland which also introduces new standards of efficiency and safety. Light rail or trams operates on tracks embedded in city streets.
Special rail vehicles
Medha designs and supplies bespoke traction packages, control systems and energy storage systems for special rail vehicles globally. Special rail vehicles are designed for specific tasks related to the construction, maintenance, and operation of railway networks. These vehicles are essential for ensuring the safety, efficiency, and functionality of rail systems.
Road.
Medha focuses exclusively on zero-emission vehicles in the road transport sector. Our expertise in zero-emission road vehicles dates back over a decade to electric trolley buses in Eastern Europe. To date, electric-powered buses equipped with our devices have travelled over 50 million kilometres.
Medha collaborates with globally reputed OEMs to customize complete power train, control system and energy storage systems, and its integration for new builds. Medha represents certain OEMs in regions where the OEMs lack presence but Medha operates. We also perform zero-emission conversions.

Battery Electric Bus
Medha offers our customers complete battery electric kit and storage for Battery Electric Buses. Medha’s electric drives recuperate the energy generated during vehicle braking. The recovered energy is used to charge the batteries, which increases the range of the vehicle. The operation of the electric drive is not accompanied by vibrations or noise which significantly increases the comfort of travel.
Hydrogen Bus
Medha offers our customers complete hydrogen powertrain kit and onboard hydrogen storage. We design, manufacture and integrate power electronic devices enabling the proper operation of the entire vehicle, particularly the hydrogen cell. Our latest Hydrogen bus commenced its passenger service in Gdansk, Poland in May 2024 with a range of 450 km on a single tank with refuelling taking just 15 minutes.
Trucks
Medha’s EV and battery storage kit are used in road trucks of gross vehicle weight up to 35 t currently. Our kit is mated with the vehicle shell to form the complete offering. Medha's suite of electric power train kit are used by globally reputed OEMs and adopted globally and meets all the safety standards. We customize the power train and gearbox to meet bespoke torque and power delivery requirements for each customer.
Construction Vehicles
Medha’s EV and storage kit are used in construction vehicles such as concrete mixers. Based on custom requirements, Medha can tailor solutions for special applications. Customization usually begins with understanding the operational cycle of the vehicle and its energy consumption, and subsequently sizing the power train and the selecting the appropriate battery chemistry and size.
Light Commercial Vehicles
Medha designs and supplies turnkey powertrain and battery electric kit for globally renowned LCV manufacturers. LCV's that Medha specialises weigh typically up to 3.5 t and are designed for easy manoeuvrability and efficiency in urban traffic. They are versatile and used for variety of purposes and feature spacious cargo areas, making them ideal for transporting goods.
Mining.
Medha focuses exclusively on zero-emission vehicles in the mining sector; both OEMs and conversions of existing mining vehicles. Our breakthrough combo Torque-Power motor is designed to revolutionise the zero emission mining vehicle space.
Mining trucks are specialized heavy-duty vehicles used in mining operations to transport large volumes of materials such as ore, coal, and overburden. Medha’s electric powertrain kit caters to the full spectrum of sizes and capacity of the mining vehicle, and we undertake custom requirements.
Airport Vehicles.
Airport vehicles are specialised vehicles used for support activities on ground at an airport such as moving passengers between terminals and aircraft parked in the tarmac, and to move aircraft on the ground. Their unique features are quick charging capability and high torque requirement to handle the significant weight of aircraft. Medha focuses exclusively on zero-emission ground vehicles.
Marine.
Medha’s suite of offering for the marine space takes its roots from its foundational expertise in high torque, high power, and high energy efficient electric propulsion suite. We design and manufacture custom propulsion systems currently ranging up to 4.5 MW for use in large marine and submarine applications.
