Traction Alternators

Traction Alternator is a key component in diesel-electric and hybrid locomotives, converting mechanical energy from the diesel engine into electrical energy. Its primary role is to generate electrical power for the traction motors, which drive the wheels of the train.

Medha’s Traction Alternators are manufactured to meet stringent international standards. Utilizing advanced manufacturing techniques these alternators are built and rigorously tested to comply with IEC 60349-1 specifications.

The use of Class 220 insulation is ensured through strict material selection and a superior impregnation process, delivering enhanced durability.

Our traction alternators are specifically designed to endure the demanding conditions of railway operations, whether in Locomotives or Diesel Electric Multiple Units (DEMU), and are compatible with various traction systems.
