Medha’s Battery Management System (BMS) or Master Battery Management Unit (MBMU) is a cutting-edge solution designed to enhance the performance, safety, and reliability of battery-powered rail vehicles and electric mobility applications. The Master Battery Management Unit (MBMU) functions as the central controller, monitoring the health, state of charge (SoC), and overall status of each battery pack. It ensures balanced charging, manages energy flow during charge and discharge cycles, and seamlessly communicates with the Battery Thermal Management System (BTMS).
Utilizing real-time data, the BMS dynamically controls individual battery modules, connecting or disconnecting them from the energy bus as needed, while also regulating battery temperature through the BTMS.
Medha’s BMS is battery-agnostic, offering compatibility with various battery chemistries, including Medha’s own LFP and LTO traction battery packs, as well as CATL, CALB LFP batteries, and Leclanché NMC batteries.
