Does Medha undertake modernization of existing rolling stock in addition to new rolling stock?
Yes, Medha provides comprehensive suite of products, solution and services to modernize existing rolling stock to extend their life as well as to operate and higher efficiencies. The modernization intervention may vary from implementing a simplistic microprocessor-based control to efficient converter to capturing regeneration and onboard storage, and complete retrofit of traction package, to complete zero emission solutions.
Medha is agnostic to the make of the rollingstock make, traction package, TCMS etc for modernisation retrofits, and has standardised systems, processes and dedicated team in place for retrofit projects. In addition to having our own suite of products, MEDHA has extensive retrofit experience across a variety of models such as Alstom Traction package and TCMS, GE traction, ABB MICAS VCU and Traction System, Siemens Traction, CRRC Traction to name a few.

Medha is a leading player in Decarbonisation in the rollingstock and commercial road space. We have also proved that our robust high power high torque high duty cycle products are suitable in harsh conditions such as mining and marine industries.
Our electric propulsion suite consisting of traction powertrain, converters, motor control unit, vehicle control unit, energy storage and management system is a constant across the sectors.
Medha has been one of the first to convert old diesel locomotives to fully battery electric in the United States, and commercial electric buses using our suite of technology has travelled more than 57Million Km cumulatively.
Medha is a fully vertically integrated company, and all the products are designed and built in our own factories. For us integration is not an afterthought. We supply complete EV kit to OEMs, as well as undertake custom EV conversions for freight, mining, Railroad public transport, and marine vehicles.

Does Medha build its own battery packs, battery management systems and battery thermal management systems?
Yes, Medha designs, manufactures and supplies battery packs, battery management systems and battery thermal management systems for rail, road, marine and special vehicle applications. Medha has a dedicated battery manufacturing plant with a current capacity of 1GW per annum where the battery packs are built. We manufacture LFP and LTO chemistries. Medha sources cells from globally reputed cell manufacturers such as Toshiba.
What are the key features of Medha's signalling solutions?
Medha's signalling solutions comprises of advanced communication-based train control (CBTC), automatic train protection (ATP), Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) similar to ETCS 2, electronic interlocking systems, and axle counters all designed to enhance safety and efficiency in rail operations. Medha's signalling products are designed to CENELEC standards to meet SIL-4 safety specifications.
