Semi-high-speed trains are a type of Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) designed for high-speed travel over long distances while ensuring a high level of passenger comfort. The latest semi-high-speed trains, developed in collaboration between Medha and ICF, are now operational with 50 units in service. Each train has a power rating of 11.5 MW, consists of 16 coaches, 8 of which are motorized, and are designed to operate at a maximum speed of 180 km/h.
The train utilizes the full range of Medha’s rolling stock products, including bogies, traction motors, traction converters, auxiliary converters, brake resistors, electrical panels, train control management system, driver’s desk, and passenger information system.
